Greetings RIMS San Diego Chapter Members,
Hopefully, this communication finds you well. With COVID-19 impacting the entire San Diego community, I wanted to update you on the significant steps our Chapter has taken to support both our RIMS members and the community at large.
To ensure we are able to carry out our mission in a manner consistent with mandated social distancing requirements, we will conduct all Chapter meetings by webinar, through the end of the year. As always, we will stay in contact with you and provide additional updates if and when the situation changes.
Our next scheduled webinar about Surviving the Hard Market will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2020 and is complimentary. For more information or to register, please click here.
With all the uncertainty around when, or if, the professional baseball season will return this year, we had to make the difficult decision to cancel the Member Appreciation Day at a Padres Game that we all have been looking forward to as well as our Golf Fundraising Event . The events were scheduled to occur on July 29th and August 7th, respectively.
As members of the risk community, we’re all used to making lemonade out of lemons, and this situation is no different. Cancelling the Membership Appreciation Day event will allow us to direct those funds back to the community through a $5,000 donation to the San Diego Food Bank on behalf of the Chapter and its members. I and the other Board members are confident this money will bring relief to a number of our fellow San Diegan’s in need.
As with all challenges that face us, we will get through this one together.
