President’s Message

Hello my friends,

Summer is gone and sadly, the daylight is getting shorter, pretty soon we will be driving to or from, (maybe both) work in the dark.  I am looking forward to cooler temperatures, however.   I hope you had a great season.

Thanks to all of our sponsors for our 2023 Golf Classic, it was another successful sold-out event.  Everyone had a great time; weather was great, and you can’t beat the venue.  We look forward to your participation next year.  I want to also thank our volunteers; we could not do this without you.  More to come on the 2024 date and theme.

In this RIMSail, please look for our 2024 Slate for the chapter board of directors and officers.  We will ask for a vote in the month of October, please respond when we send the ballot.  Per our by-laws we need a majority to pass the slate.  If you are a member of RIMS at the Society level and are interested in participating on the board, please let us know.  Personally, the best bang for your membership buck is to participate on the board or other chapter events (which will increase with COVID in the rear-view mirror).

Speaking of events, please also note in this issue, a solicitation for an I Love a Clean San Diego outing on Saturday November 4, 2023.  Please save this date and plan to join.  We are looking for other sweat equity community service activities for 2024.  Please share your thoughts on possibilities with Cindy Faulk cindy@chuze.com

Who out there is going for your ARM designation?  Cindy Faulk and Jose Lugo are starting a virtual study group.  They hope to meet every other week and get through a chapter of the study guide at each session.  More information can be found in this RIMSail.

We are having our first in-person meeting after going dark this summer.  I hope you are able to join us for an interesting panel discussion on Artificial Intelligence, Creating a Business Case for AI, September 28th 11:30 am to 1 pm.  Visit our website to register.  www.sandiegorims.org

As we head into our holiday season, be it Halloween, Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas, or another holiday special to you, please enjoy time with your family and friends and stay safe.

Respectfully,

Cheryl Berman
