President's Message
|
President’s Message I hope you all are doing well. As said in the last message, the San Diego RIMS Board met for a planning meeting for this year and are committed to more in-person events for networking opportunities. I understand there are people that enjoy the flexibility of working remotely, but personal connections are so important, and we look forward to bringing these opportunities to you. In January Ryan Nell, of Pettit Kohn Ingrassia Lutz & Dolin, spoke on Employment Law Update. As usual, Ryan had a fantastic presentation. Employment law is ever changing, and it is so important to stay ahead of the curve. In February Casey Powers, of Chubb, presented on Cyber Market Update & Claims Trends. This too was a terrific presentation. Cyber becomes increasingly important to our everyday business and personal life. This is a tough one to stay on top of. CA Violence in the Workplace Prevention Plan, SB 553, will be our next presentation. Steve Thompson will present on this hot topic. Seating is limited so, go to www.sandiegorims.org to register. We planned to go dark in April since RISKWORLD will be in San Diego the first week of May, but we may pull off a virtual event, stay tuned. Speaking of RISKWORLD, if you are attending the conference, we plan to have a chapter happy hour between the final keynote and the Sedgwick closing party. Location and time TBA, keep an eye on the chapter website for more information. Save the date for our Fairways & Film: The Ultimate Golf Movie Themed Tournament on Friday, August 2, 2024 at our usual place, Coronado Golf Course. This is our number one fund raiser, and a great time is had by all. Looking forward to seeing you at one of our upcoming events. Respectfully, Cheryl Berman
