President’s Message,

I hope this newsletter finds you well heading into the summer months.  I love the longer days this time of year.

Having RISKWORLD in San Diego this year was great.  The weather cooperated and every attendee I talked to thought San Diego is the best venue for this conference, hands down.  Both the San Diego and Nevada Chapters met for happy hour between the last keynote and the RISKWORLD/Sedgwick closing party.  It was fun visiting with those fine people and we vowed to do the same in Chicago next year.  Hold the date for 5/4-7/2025 for next year's conference.

In May we had our annual Risk Manager Roundtable.  Those that attended the conference shared information on some of the keynotes and/or sessions they found more interesting, or alarming, depending on how you look at it.  As usual, all of the keynotes were very good.  I enjoy these information sharing meetings and hope we have a better turnout year over year.

Another save the date is for our Fairways & Film: The Ultimate Golf Movie Themed Tournament on Friday, August 2, 2024 at our usual place, Coronado Golf Course.  This is our number one fundraiser, and a great time is had by all.  We may still have sponsorship opportunities, check it out at www.sandiegorims.org.

In this issue as with all of our issues, Al Haverkamp provides a coverage quiz (thanks Al).  This one is on horizontal/vertical coverage.  This is one you should not miss.  Thinking out loud, perhaps this is a topic we should have at one of our future meetings.  It crops up every now and then and can be very impactful on a claim.  We are always looking for educational content.  If you have any suggestions, please reach out and let us know.  sdrims@sdrims.org
