President's Message

President’s Message,
I hope this message finds you well. What a busy, hot, summer. Sorry to see the long days getting shorter, but not too sad about getting past the hot weather.
We had our primary fundraiser, the San Diego RIMS Golf Classic, the first Friday in August. Save the date of August 1, 2025 for next year’s tournament. There is a lot of work that goes into organizing this event, but it is worth it, seeing everyone have such a great time at a place that you cannot beat the view. I want to thank Tim Kolgen and Julie Nester for co-chairing the committee; Lan Nguyen and Carla Johnson for all of their creativity and hard work. Lila, we missed you on the day, I hope your granddaughter’s team won her tournament! To round out our committee thanks to Philip Cordeiro, Erica Kneeland and Andrea Tripoli. And a special thanks to Duane Johnson for being a great emcee again this year. We were delighted to have FM Global be our Platinum Sponsor for 2024.
Our Hole Sponsors were encouraged to engage in our Themed Event and were judged by our Golf Committee in 3 categories: Best Theme, Best Hospitality, and Best Overall. Let's congratulate our winners:

We were lucky to have a behind the scenes tour of Legoland in August, it was fabulous. Thank you, Kathy Murphy, (former RIMS board member), for being our guide and sharing about the history of the park.
After the tour, we had a nice lunch catered by Qdoba, one of our chapter member companies. Good venue, people and food, a winning combination.
Coming up September 26th we will have a ½ day education event followed by a networking happy hour. To register, go to www.sandiegorims.org. There will be lunch, sponsored by ReEmployability, followed by four great educational sessions before the happy hour reception. Space is limited, so register soon!
It is that time of year again, your nominating committee has a new slate of officers and directors. Chapter Professionals and Associates of the Society will receive a ballot before the end of the month, please take a few minutes and vote so that we can meet our quorum requirements.
