Welcome to the San Diego Chapter of the Risk and Insurance Management Society, Inc. (RIMS). RIMS is a nonprofit corporation with its principal office headquarters in New York City.
The San Diego Chapter is organized to provide opportunities for dialogue, education, advancement, and improvement in the risk management discipline through meetings, seminars, communications, publications, and other programs and activities; to risk management and insurance professionals throughout San Diego County.
April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month, and the (TREDS) Training, Research and Education for Driving Safety program at the University of California, San Diego encourages you to ‘Take Action Against Distraction’ by adopting some easy strategies to prevent phone use while driving. Every day, there are over 1,153 people injured and 9 killed in motor vehicle crashes involving a distracted driver. It is estimated that every 30 seconds there is a crash involving drivers using cell phones in the U.S.
The Premier Scholarship Grant Provider
Spencer is the premier organization awarding scholarships and grants in risk management and insurance, and facilitating internship opportunities, as well as providing a Risk-Manager-in-Residence program to universities. Since our founding, we have awarded 895 scholarships totaling approximately $5.96 million, and $3.25 million in grants to universities and professional institutions for educational programs and conferences.More details
