President’s Message,
What a whirlwind of a summer. Sad to see the days get shorter but looking forward to cooler weather.
For the first time in many years, the chapter had an event at the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club. It was enjoyed by all in attendance. A week later, we had our annual Golf Classic. The theme being Martee Gras made for a very festive atmosphere. This was one of our most successful fundraisers. I would like to thank all of the volunteers who made this event possible. Tim Kolgen and Julie Nester, our fearless leaders of the committee, Lan Nguyen, the behind the scenes master mind, Carla Johnson, our creative genius, Duane Johnson, best MC ever, Andrea Tripoli, the connection to almost everyone, Erica Kneeland and Philip Cordeiro. Save the date for next year, August 7, 2026.
In August, we were given a tour of the Meals on Wheels facility in Kearny Mesa. It is a beautiful facility, and they do great work to help our senior community. The chapter was happy to donate for their great cause.
This month, RIMS is joining forces with PARMA for an educational half day event at Tom Ham’s Lighthouse. Please consider joining us on 9/24/2025. Registration opens at 11:30 am for more information go to www.sandiegorims.org.
2026 is just around the corner, and with that comes a new San Diego RIMS Chapter Board session. Those members at the Society level will receive a request to vote on the slate, please respond to that request. I want to thank all of future board members in advance for their service.
