President’s Message
Hello 2026! As I take over as President of the San Diego Chapter, I would like to thank our outgoing president, Cheryl Berman, for her years of service and for her guidance. Cheryl will remain on the board as Past President this year and we all appreciate her passing on her knowledge and experience.
The chapter began the new year with an educational lunch and learn featuring Ryan Nell of Pettit Kohn Ingrassia Lutz & Dolin who provided an employment law update. February’s educational lunch and learn focused on Cyber Security and AI with a very interesting presentation by Derek Pocoroba from Triden Group. It was an interactive session and provided an interesting perspective on cybercrimes and the impact of AI. We meet again on March 26th and will have a property market update presented by Chad Hoxie, Alliant Insurance Services. We have been busy planning the rest of the year with a planned Loss Control presentation in April and a Risk Managers Round Table in May. Both events are on our website and registration is open.
For those of you attending RIMS in Philadelphia, we look forward to seeing you there. We will keep you posted for a potential San Diego member gathering as we get closer to the event.
Lastly, our annual golf invitational is scheduled for August 7th at the beautiful Coronado Golf Course. There are annual sponsorships currently available that include some golf opportunities within them. We will be sending out “save the date” reminders and opening up golf sponsorship opportunities soon! This year’s theme; Summer Beach Par-Tee 😊.
